I've been to ventana twice. as mentioned, the only way to recognize status is to say "thank you" and to give a room upgrade. The first time we went got upgraded to a suite with personal hot tub from a base room off points. Second time they were sold out but one person had accidentally double booked a room that was one category up. They took the time to get us into that last room that had just freed up.

I've not been to Alila yet, but my sense is they will alos upgrade if there is availability.

The challenge is both of these properties are very small (60-70 rooms) and are often sold out...so they will upgrade if available but can only do so much.
