Exclamation A data point on rebooking Avios 50% issues and going beyond 1 year ticket expiry

Data point after making a rebooking for a cancelled flight today. (20 mins for gold line to answer at 9.30)

Have a LHR>TATL 50% Avios sale booking bought on last day of sale in October 2020. Original travel date March 2021.

Flights cancelled so rebooked in July 21 with new outward 5 Sep. BA took extra Avios to make up 50% discount and change from an off peak to peak.
- reticketed with new ticket numbers

New Flights cancelled again in August 21 so rebooked with new outward 22 Sep. No extra charges and no reward seat availability required.

Revised new flight cancelled in September. Was able to rebook with new outward/inward in June 2022. No extra charges and no reward availability required.

Some interesting caveats made by Agent without me asking:
- ticket availability - only one extension now allowed, "If there is further disruption to your itinerary we may not be able to extend validity any further to allow you to postpone"
- "we give just one ticket validity extension"
-"on a brand new booking we give 12 months validity from the outbound date"
-"when you change a booking you can rebook up to 12 months from date of reissue"

In my case the Agent said I was close to the last date I could rebook to.

So it looks to me if c-w-s is right - changes to stop churning are about to or have already happened.
