I've tried cheddars from the boggest of the bog standards on sale at Tesco to the artisanal producer selling at the Chiswick cheese market, the guy who stores the thing in a quarz cave and yadda yadda yadda... For me it just doesn't hold up to a Comté, a Reblochon, Pecorino, Lait Brus, Morbier, Fontina... even if they had to go British there's better. A half-decent Stilton, a supermarket Shropshire beats the hell out of any Cheddar any day of the month.
All of this is obviously my own 2p's. I'd love BA to have a half decent cheese & charcuterie board, some fruit and perhaps a good yoghurt. Unfortunately none of that is available but it feels like it's a common problem at least in my neck of the woods in London.
