I didn't take many photos of my hotel rooms this trip, just a few to remember details, definitely not travel brochure worthy (and spread across 4 devices).
I stayed in a Crockfords city view room on the 63rd floor. When I inquired about Diamond upgrade availability, I was told that's the best room I could get for what I reserved. First thing I noticed was the high ceiling. Large bathroom with marble floors, I liked the dual showerheads and the bench. The frosted glass door hiding the toilet would close itself and noisily hit the door guard, so I learned to hand close it. Bed was comfortable, and since I like morning sun, I can't say how effective the curtains were at blocking light. The A/C was loud, not the worst I've experienced, though I did have to shut it off before going to sleep. Didn't put the television, channel selection, or device connectivity to the test. Diamond level wifi was good (speedtest result of 71 down, 52 up). I was more interested in seeing the sights away from the Strip, so spent no time in the casinos (other than to burn the free play money) or pools, which means I also didn't try Agave, one of the other venues where you can use F&B credit. I did like the variety at the Famous Foods Street Eats (F&B credit does not apply here), sampling several dishes over three nights, but not a fan of the prices. What would cost you $3 in Singapore would be $14 here.
I did take out at Suns Out, Buns Out both mornings, as it was easier to spend as close to $50 as possible (The Kitchen breakfast buffet cost $27). Two breakfast items and one fresh juice is around $35 already, so I added a couple of doughnuts and topped it off with two $5 soda bottles to hit exactly $50, and the credit does not cover added tip, even if it stays under $50 (I found out on morning 2 that the credit does cover sales tax). The doughnuts weren't that good, so the next day I wrangled 3 bottles of soda instead (and 4 more on morning 3, I'm on a road trip, I just took them home). I wonder if someone is willing to try (or has already tried) buying a $45 skateboard with the credit, while not technically F or B, it is a restaurant charge.
After the previous room, this Conrad 21st floor strip view room felt smaller, likely due to the "normal" height ceiling. I wonder if I had asked about the Diamond upgrade at check-in, I might have gotten a higher floor. This room did have a nice view of the mountains (Red Rock Canyon?) and overlooking the pool. You're at the north end of the Strip, so there's not much visible street action. I was concerned that the billboard wall would be bothersome at night, but it seemed to shut off by 11pm. Did not test the blackout capabilities of the curtains nor any of the TV setup. Bed and A/C felt the same compared to Crockfords. Even the bathroom had near-identical dimensions and features - dual sinks, lighted mirror, waterfall shower mounted on the ceiling instead of dual heads (though no marble floor).
I used the valet the first time I arrived at Crockfords, and picking it up the next day, waited 7 minutes for my car. There was only one other guest also waiting. The next two nights (one here, one Conrad), I used the free hotel parking (not to be confused with "self-park", which is a different lot). I can't say I would stay again at normal prices, but it was a good use of two FNCs. I was on a road trip, so the free parking was much appreciated and could be a deciding factor for others. If I were flying rather than driving in, with the early review-bombing, I might have stayed at the WA instead. Though there's something special about being one of the early guests, before a hundred thousand people use that bed. (I also stayed at the Aria in its first 3 months.)
