The golf carts are not really logistically feasible as there is not room to drive a large fleet of them in an airport. They already cause a major disturbance with relatively few of them. They also would create major problems for pax facing tight connections who have to compete to be the first dropped off.
This is why CLT removed them. The terminal is too crowded during the banks for the carts to safely navigate the crowds. It is a wheelchair or nothing...
