Ahhh yes, the infamous Miracle Flights where the Jetway Jesus works miracles in flight.

As a lifelong wheelchair user, the problem I see is the wasted resources. I have to wait for aisle chair assistance on and off, so I'm always first on/last off. Often the wheelchair staff is late/unavailable due to being needed elsewhere causing delays in boarding/deplaning an entire flight which has a ripple effect down the line and kills D0 for the GAs.

One way wheelchair requests would help tremendously in this regard, but I doubt many would know to ask for it or use it.

I will say that AA has gotten better with noting what service is required. In the past, even though I would let them know I had my own wheelchair, there would be a wheelchair waiting for me upon arrival which was not needed. Now, the attendants are there for the aisle chair assistance but there isn't an extra wheelchair. FWIW, the incompetence of the aisle chair attendants is staggering. I have no idea how the vendor gets away with having unqualified people handle a person in an aisle chair - so many liability issues, but that's for another thread.
