SeeYa, It is good to know that Europcar does indeed take Diners Club credit cards. When I was searching for a rental car in Ireland I noticed that most of the online booking engines did not take Diners but Visa, MasterCard and Amex. So the word "generally" in my comment does apply. Fortunately, you found a car rental companty that did accept your credit card of choice.
