Both my SO and I have company RSU account with MS so we activated Access Direct ($0 minimum vs $5k for Access Invest). I begun the process earlier and opened Platinum CashPlus last week and pulled in 25k, applied for MS Plat card and got the card today.
However, when my SO started today she got an incompetent Virtual Advisor on the phone, whom opened the wrong account for her: AAA - Active Access Account instead of Plat Cashplus. A second call to MS a rude advisor told her this indeed is the correct account and will eventually changed to Plat CashPlus. I smell BS and did a quick search and found that AAA is a completely different product to the CashPlus account, when I opened last week I saw the Plat CashPlus on my account just 5 mins after the call.
Anyone got similar experience and is it simple enough for them to fix it? (Simply convert AAA back to plat cashplus)
We will contact them again in the morning but such a disappointing experience for us, with the upcoming time wasted dealing with MS trying to fix their mistake.
Sorry to hear about your experience. I have the Access Direct account also setup but haven't setup the Platinum Cashplus yet since my spouse just opened a regular Plat in May and I want to run through a year of the card before I can close it and get the MS Plat. Please post when you get the engagement bonus credited to your account and I hope your SO's issues get resolved.
