I rented a car through Enterprise in Germany last Friday with the reservation lasting until after hours on, Sunday, September 13th. My reservation clearly showed the after hours return on Sunday evening and the Enterprise employee informed me that I can just park it in the garage and drop off the keys after hours.

When I tried to return the car yesterday, the garage was completely blocked off with a sign saying they are closed until 6 am Monday morning due to renovations. I was never informed of this when picking up my car, no one ever called or emailed me when I had the car, and even if I wanted to, I could not park the car outside the garage and drop the key off since the after hours key drop off was inside the closed garage!

Unfortunately, because of this, I had to stay an extra night in the city while missing my train on Sunday evening. I'm beyond furious and I have already sent an email to Enterprise customer support but wanted to ask if anyone ever has had to go through this or if you have any recommendations on best course of action now.
