Yep - know it is peak season which is why I booked it in January. I just checked a few weeks ago to see if points required dropped (nope - almost doubled) and it was still selling rooms. As was the Hampton Inn in town (I think)
We found and holding a motel but still holding onto the Hampton Inn (50 miles away) until we decide what we want to do. We may just cancel the train trip and pick another town or just do the motel for cash.

When we booked in January it was supposed to open in August (I think) so two months was not cutting it too close IMO. It did slip until this month when I checked later on.... And as I said above just a couple weeks ago (maybe a little more) they were still selling it for October....
My issue is that my reservation was still showing as confirmed today when we tried to call and confirm and ask a few questions. No notification that the place we a reservation with was not going to be open. Pretty bad that they are not taking reservations anymore but not doing anything about reaching out to people with reservations and maybe trying to move to the Hampton Inn that is in town before it sold out (it was available about a month or two ago)
