A $10,000 watch, for example, earns 10,000 MR points, but you can earn 20,000 Thank You Points with Citi Double Cash. Is paying $150 or whatever you view the points difference worth it for purchase protection? I think so. Same thing with say a big home appliance purchase where you get an extra year of warranty.
What exactly are you expecting to happen to a $10k watch in the first 90 days that $150 is worthwhile?
