That was in July and September 1987, right after AA started DFW-NRT. I was an AA employee. My wife and I went to Kyoto for 2 nights over the July 4th weekend. Five friends and I went to Tokyo for one night for Labor Day. First class all four legs. "Sleeper seats" that current J seats may beat. No in seat video. No personal DVDs or VCPs. Two movies. Three meals. They DID have a stand-up bar downstairs (main level) between F & J. That was kind of cool. As I recall, there were only about 5 rows of coach.
