I recall MD-11s sitting parked on the tarmac at DFW for long times. Also the inaugural flights SJC - NRT, as I recall, weren't they landing at SFO for a tank top-up? Or was that a runway length issue.

I notice not many airlines are using the Mad Dog - thoguh Finnair still is, as well as LX? Of course, FedEx... but then again, we can't earn miles on FedEx.
