Since when does any airline confirm your eligibility fly a specific route when completing a booking? I need a visa to enter China, but no one confirms I have one in place when I book a flight.
You and only you are accountable to determine if you have the required documents to enter a country.
FYI - AC’s Travel Ready page provides links to US Government website which clearly state that an E-2 does not qualify for an exemption to enter the country from Europe. It took me 2 minutes to find the needed information. The fact that you chose not to confirm your eligibility, is not on Aeroplan.
