Have burned 2Million+ UR points during C0vid, hitting 51 countries in last two years.
99+% of it redeemed on the portal (few small transfers to UA)
It's how my fiance and I travel the world, almost for free.
For short-haul flights in economy, and boutique hotels (no chains), it's just... free money.
I don't ask about prices, or compare. I just load the portal, book the flights, book the hotels, and enjoy.
Burned another 300k UR points this morning via the portal - ~2 months worth of hotels/'vacation rentals' in Europe this Fall.
Saved myself $4300, so, yeah, I'll take it.
Yes... when flights are cancelled, calling and waiting on hold sucks.
(Had 40+ flights cancelled during pandemic, and it was hand to hand combat keeping on Chase.)
But, it got done.
I've learned to escalate to supervisors - who can tend to solve problems fast.
Anyone complaining about the portal, I dunno. It's the easiest way to redeem points I know of.
It's my #1 go to source for everything but longhaul J/F rewards. Love it, and thank my lucky stars Chase lets us cash in points a 1.5cents so easily.
