I spent a night at the downtown Renaissance this week, and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The hotel itself is clean and modern, with really good staff. I applied an SNA which cleared five days out to a full suite. I arrived about 11am, not expecting for a room to be ready, but it was (which was a pleasant surprise). They have a little "wheel of fortune" thing at the front desk which you get to spin for various prizes at check-in; I got free valet parking which saved my employer $30. Elite welcome gift was the standard $10 F&B credit or 1,000 points. I didn't ask about elite breakfast as I had an early flight so wouldn't be able to take advantage. I guess my only complaint was that I ordered room service dinner which came as "fresh bites", i.e. in styrofoam containers with plasticware, and wasn't all that tasty for the price (YMMV, but I've generally had good experiences with Marriott room service). At check-out the parking charge was still on the bill, but the front desk associate immediately removed it when I mentioned the wheel--he said he saw the code had been applied for free parking but for some reason it didn't negate the charge.
All in all, a good, solid stay at a hotel I'd gladly stay at again.
