You pretty well nailed the differences. Metropolitan is larger with addition of dining, sitting and work areas. I think there are also additional minor variation in layout - corner location vs non-corner location. Windows in bedroom are similar to sitting area - 3/4 vs true floor to ceiling.
Yes - I believe that properties can elect out of accepting SNA's. SNA - when we originally booked the hotel was not accepting SNA's/SNA's could not be applied to the reservation.
