Random thought - why not change A/C type?

Hi all,

I have been thinking about the following situation and I'd love to hear thoughts.

I have an upcoming flight from FNC to FRA that is completely booked out in J. The seatmap is not available if I want to select another seat and the seatmap that shows when I look in MMB shows that every seat is taken. A dummy booking also doesn't allow me book this flight in J.

The flight isn't until 24 October, so I'm wondering why LH don't simply swap the a/c from its current A320 to an A321 to allow more tickets to sell? I know it's not as simple as that, but I'm wondering how complicated swapping out an A320 for an A321would be?
