The philosophy that I've always followed (and it's even more true at this point):
1. Book what you need and are willing to pay for.
2. If you just 'want' something, book full or intermediate. Then ask for upgrades when you get there. I've only seen one GT in the last few months. There are tons of 300s but not too many Chargers, but maybe you'll get lucky depending when/where you're picking up.
That's too bad there's no way to upgrade to V8s.
My employer has a negotiated corporate fixed rate for up to full size, but anything else seems to be priced the same as for the general public. This makes sporty cars 3-4x more expensive than full size with current shortages, which doesn't make sense to pay (for me at least). On the last trip I got upgraded to a Chrysler 300s (from full size), which was nice enough.
Edit: looking at the rates in a bit more detail, it seems other vehicles are also cheaper with the corporate rate, but sport, elite and signature vehicles are priced the same as for everyone else.
