I booked the HGI at LHR a while ago, direct with Hilton, and got what looked like zero status benefits from that.
Got the same hotel (booked weeks earlier) as part of a BA Holiday, and should that be able to go ahead (USA next month), I'm expecting nothing from that either.
I do try and book somewhere I have zero status just in case, although sometimes it can be cheaper booking elsewhere and staying there.
