As a UK military veteran, I have been asked once or twice in the UK for my Defence Discount Service card (having booked ihg hotels using the former DDS rate) or some form of Military credentials when booking using the Military/Government rate (although retired I do still sit on a couple of M.O.D committees and use it in connection with those with appropriate I.D)..

In Europe I have very very occasionally been asked to complete a ihg hotels partnerships voucher (as per attached)

The only country I have never been asked for any credentials whatsoever is when staying in the USA using the DDS rate, although I doubt they would know what UK veterans/military credentials actually look like!
