PNR is your "Passenger Name Record" - more simply, it's your booking confirmation # (6 digits/letters). Most tickets have one PNR associated with them but a single ticket can have multiple PNRs if there are multiple airlines on the ticket, as in many cases, each airline will have its own PNR associated with the ticket. It is possible for the airline to add internal notes associated with a reservation (PNR).
