If you use the fat file system, does the ipod show up as a disk drive when you plug it into a PC if you don't have itunes loaded there?
I noticed that itunes installed two services on my PC. I disabled both of them. One was ipodservice. can't remember what the other one was. Might have been installed as run key in the registry rather than as a service. itunes seems to be working ok still. The one thing I hate about apple sw for the PC is that they install all sorts of startup processes and services, even if you don't necessarily need them. Of course, that makes it simpler for those who do need them, I suppose.
