There is nothing unusual about LH delaying reissuing tickets in favor of other imminent itineraries where rebooking is needed.
There is no need to call LH to add a FFP. Just do it at OLCI (or the check-in counters).
I do understand the fact that Lufthansa apparently don't do this instantly - but I don't think a satisfactory solution is me having to keep checking to see whether or not the ticket has been reissued whilst not knowing for sure whether I'll have problems when I arrive at the airport. I'm also tired of being told a different thing every time I phone up.
I also like having the ability to manage my booking online - whether that be adding a FFP, looking at seats, or applying for an upgrade. It's a pretty normal expectation (in my opinion).
The reason I requested a change instead of cancellation is because these tickets were very cheap (around €250 return, if I recall). But tbh, I am now tempted to rebook with Iberia.
Since I have requested a change, but it has not been ticketed, where do I stand now if I ask for a refund? I imagine this won't be permitted, but I'm starting to think it'd be the best option.
