i already moaned about this on a separate thread but it does make me feel a bit better that this terrible experience is more common.

while i went thru on sat at 2pm, all seemed quiet and the fast trak lane rope was not open...but i did not see anyone in normal security...until i turned the corner--but still not really a terrible line at all.

was ushered into one of the far right lanes that would have been where i ended up w fast trak...but the man was barking at me to take every single electronic out. i was confused bc one bag is my "go bag" meaning is is always packed the exact same for every trip and it is easy for me to take out my bag of liquids and devices. this time i had a secondary bag with a bluetooth speaker, toothbrush and some other small things. well at the time i only recalled the speaker and he forced THAT out, fine, i just needed the shouting to stop.

i go through and think UH OH. the post-detector side is absolutely rammed. these two lanes had easily 40 people waiting for the secondary bag screens. i nervously wait and my duffle (with excess electronics) come out...and my go bag is pushed aside.

now it is 205pm ahead of my 305 departure. i wait and wait and wait behind dozens of other secondary bags.

at 240pm mine is up (the manager said to find him if it hit 240pm and mine was still not brought forward so as to not miss my flight).

the agent goes in to my bag and searches and searches and finds nothing. she takes out my wallet and inspects it and nothing. i ask what is it that caused this? she vaguely looked to the monitor and felt around the bag, looked at a battery pack and that was all. no answer. i said so this wait was for nothing because you found nothing? she just shrugged and said "electronics" to which i pointed to all my electronics sitting in front of her in the bin...THOSE?

she asked which airline, i said BA, she went off for a second, came back and said ok thanks.

worst experience ever especially given it was JUST THESE TWO LANES that were so outrageously backed up! there were plenty of other lanes open with none of this nonsense which makes no sense statistically if the same number of people are going through at the same time.
