Fairmont Sanur Bali has quietly became independent and rebranded into the "Piermont Sanur Beach Bali". The change has begun to be reflected in various OTAs, and the hotel has launched its own website:

Oddly, the hotel still shows up on the Accor and Fairmont websites, albeit being unavailable for booking.

I honestly think that this is a very poor and uncreative attempt on a rebranding. The fact that the new name and logo tries to mimic its old identity is just very, very tacky and makes the property look like a knock-off. The logo even looks like a poor photoshop attempt of the Fairmont logo. I must say that this is a very sad development for the hotel, having aspired to become an ultra-luxury Regent at its start, to becoming an upscale Fairmont, and now this disappointing incarnation.

Recent reviews on tripadvisor (still under Fairmont) also reflects the hotel's poor management, which is sad considering how relatively nice the rooms were.

EDIT: The hotel's facebook page has the following explanation, and they claim that it is a temporary name.

"We would like to announce that we are changing our brand name from Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali to Piermont Sanur Beach Bali. This is temporary situation only, until we has completed the transition to the new operator. In keeping things specific on this state, we also will be changing logo. Our resort remains open to accommodate our future guests with the same facilities and services. Contact us for more information and booking"
