Have you ever wondered where the word "posh" came from? It dates back to the old steam ships going back and forth from England to India. Wealthy passengers preferred their cabin always to be on the shady side of the ship (that is the side facing North). Booking agents would write the abbreviation P.O.S.H. on the reservation papers, meaning "Port Out, Starboard Home". And this later became a word to describe wealthy individuals.

Just thought I would throw that in as it's such a nice anecdote.
