I agree with the positive reviews and just spent five nights here on points. Don’t expect much in the way of elite recognition though.
This was our second stay and couldn’t use SNAs or even get minor category upgrades as a Platinum. They are running at full capacity so no games being played here, couldn’t even get moved from two queens to a king, despite a request in advance (at check-in they acknowledged the request right away and said they had really tried to work it out before we arrived).
We were also told politely at check-in that “we know Platinum guests expect late check-out but management has asked that guests check out by noon”. Our flight was late afternoon on our last day so we pushed back on this, and they told us to call on the morning of the last day and they would see what they could do. We ended up deciding to check out early anyway, so didn’t get to test what would have happened, but I’ve read in other reviews of the hotel that they were unwilling to honor late Plat check-out for others. The hotel responded to one of these reviews saying they are a small hotel where nearly all of their guests check-in by 4p, so they have to strike a balance between expectations of guests checking in and out. Understandable, but as this is a guaranteed benefit, seems like they should provide some sort of compensation if they can’t fulfill it.
Re parking, had no trouble at all parking within a block of the hotel free throughout our stay. The streets facing town square are all 3-hour limited, but all of the streets behind the hotel have no time restrictions at all and we never had a hard time finding a spot.
Yeah, the rates are insane, resort fee sucks, but you’re not going to find bargains in Jackson.
