Crystal City: Regency Club Closed And Grade Stay A C Minus
I have stayed at this hotel several times before, and recently completed a one night stay. I don't know if it has been a while, but the Regency Club is now closed.
Other points about this particular stay:
*I had to wait at DCA for a good 25 minutes for the shuttle;
*Upon check in I asked for a tooth brush and tooth paste, and they did not have any tooth paste. Mind you, this is one of the closest hotels to DCA and I would imagine they do a lot of business re people unexpectedly stranded;
*I was on the 17th floor, and the water pressure was abismal. I think water pressure is one of the most important and under rated and underreported characteristics about a hotel experience. I remember staying on the 18th floor and having exceptional water pressure, so I wonder if the showers are different on 18? On 17, the handles were plastic where as I think on 18 they were brass or chrome? It occurred to me with the abismal water pressure that the lack of pressure probably results in more germs or bacteria lingering around;
*The person that checked me in did not offer up the Diamond breakfast coupons, or Diamond amenity until I asked for them. Also no explanation was given as to the mysterious closing of the Regency Club;
*The room on 17 did not have a bath robe. I called and one was promptly delivered, but the hotel did not stock slippers which is a nice touch for them to have. I wonder if rooms on 17 are upgraded at all?
I will try this hotel again particularly if I can get floor 18, but this stay had a lot of little things gone astray.
