My brother and mom are on a BOS-LHR-BLR-LHR-BOS itinerary in CW, and my brother got AA Gold status (OW ruby) after flying the BOS-LHR-BLR legs (the flights credited early this morning). Currently in BLR and are flying back to BOS on Sunday 5 September.

They are trying to use the status to waive seat selection fees. The AA site shows his status as gold, but it hasn't updated on the BA site. He called a BA agent in India but they didn't have access to see his status. How long should they expect for status to post and seat selection to be free, and is there anything else that can be done in the meantime?
