I have never stopped flying since covid and never have caught covid. I believe the masks and respirators I use truly work, because I haven't even caught a seasonal cold since 2019. I noticed years ago, when I wore a regular mask on a plane I never got sick but if I didn't I always caught a cold within a week of my arrival.

I said all that to tell you what I've been doing.

If the flight is full and people are coughing I wear a P100, N95 with a KN95. I'm just not taking a chance no matter how uncomfortable it is. I flew from Dubai to Los Angeles with a N96 for 16 hours with a few bathroom breaks and a max if 15 minutes over a few times to gobble down food and in-between put the mask back on.

I have flown some flights with just a KN95 and put another KN95 on top of it. Two KN95s aren't uncomfortable in my opinion and one definitely isn't.

As far as I know there are no reusable (washable) N95s or equivalent. They all need a certain type of material or filter that eventually needs replaced. But not replaced daily. And if washed will render it useless.

An FDA approved KN95 is the most comfortable and protective in my opinion and doubling it up is even more protective. More comfortable than all of my N100s, N95s and P100s. I have a long haul flight coming up and it depends on where I sit and the occupancy, etc on which one I plan to use most of the time.
