So the weakness of CityFlyer right now is definitely when the cabin gets too big. Just flew the (extremely expensive) post-bank holiday IBZ-LCY service on BA8462 to be faced with the choice of a pretty poor ploughman’s or pre-packaged finger sandwiches given there were 8 rows. Scone was cold and a bit hard, the banana bread was tasteless and at that point I gave up and didn’t really eat anything else. The situation was not helped by the crew member’s insistence that they could only serve tea, coffee, juice or water with the meal and anything else had to wait for a post-meal bar service.
This is the correct meal for the time of day, regardless of the size of the cabin. Hot meals on band 3 flights are only in play for departures before 09:30 and from 17:00.
