If the alternate flights were conducive to my schedule sure I'd take the $300 offer, particularly if F was wide open on the alternate flights. However, in general if they call for volunteers it's no less than $500 for me because the hassle you go through (not being able to board until the end) and then the likelihood you will even be needed (for most part near nil) isn't worth anything less.
