Again, my argument is very simple: airlines should enforce and passengers should follow rules and laws. Passengers are guests, as are foreign airlines in the countries they are flying into.
If you don’t agree with that, I am curious about how consistent your belief is: would you support somebody vaping somewhere near you on the flight? (Great HEPA and VOC filters mean you can’t possibly smell it right?) Fake emotional support turkeys in your middle seat? People standing up to grab their bags while the plane is still taxiing?
Flying during a pandemic is stressful enough without people deciding for themselves about what behavior will or won’t affect others. I agree the science is out on masks on airplanes, but I’d much rather have some of the world’s best epidemiologists making the rules than a random passenger in 2E who wants me to believe they have been vaccinated. If they can’t even follow a simple rule, why should I believe they aren’t lying?
