Lots of people talking about Time square location as a minus. Not super relevant to the thread but for OP's reference, wanting to be close to Midtown is completely reasonable. As a tourist, I'd rather be in Time Square than FiDi. There's a reason why Time Square is packed with hotels that generally price higher than the hotels in FiDi. Not the best part of the city (by a long shot) but for a tourist looking to do touristy things, Time Square can make a lot of sense. Just my 2 cents.
