New Orleans morning report. It's tough to get information but here's what I've been able to get. I believe this to be accurate as of this time.

Power is out for Orleans Parish which encompasses the entire city of New Orleans. Entergy, the electric utility, has 8 feeder lines to the parish and ALL are down. Power is also out in Jefferson Parish. Jefferson surrounds Orleans Parish. These outages are for both the East and West Banks of the Mississippi. There is no time frame for restoration. Generators are providing power for the pumping system and many critical facilities such as hospitals are running on generators. Fuel resupply will become a problem.

The 911 system is down. Streets are full of debris.

There is flooding. This isn't like Katrina. There are no levee breaks so the flooding isn't 80% of the city. It's based on over 4" of rainfall. I-10 is flooded and closed west of LaPlace, LA. This is at the western end of Lake Ponchetrain and just west of I-55. According to electrical outage maps, there is no power east of Lafayette along the I-10 corridor and down through Cajun country which is what the eye traversed.
