You are definitely East Wing, which is attached to the Tower, but the Tower has another set of lifts on the other side of the ground floor. The noise is Edgware Road and the fact you are between one set of traffic lights by M&S, and another on the West Way. And that's exactly why "West is best". West is a separate and more recently building tower, there are effectively 3 of them in all, and though there are some walkthroughs on lower levels, it's a separate building. It's actually a mammouth hotel, there can easily be 2,000 people staying there on a busy night.
Understood, I guess the proper tower is where the boarded up corridor opposite the lifts goes to? (I looked at the in app floor plans this morning to try and work out where I was). I look out over to M&S which matches what you said.
I hadn't realised just how big it is! Going by the lobby you'd never know it can service that many guests! Given how big it is, it's somewhat impressive that the bar staff remebered me on the second night!
Noted though, given lack of upgrade I'll see about doing online check in next time to get something in the west tower.
