Anecdotally, one way you could be made to change rooms is to make multiple reservations with different room types. If the room types are the same for all segments you'll be good without issue.

Do something like book a suite for night one and then a standard room for the next however many nights with the expectation that you'll stay in the suite and you could be making a bad assumption that the suite will be available for your entire stay.

People do this semi-frequently and when no suites are available they get ticked and try to intimidate with their HH status but at the end of the day, they'll still be changing rooms one way or another.
