I've been an Audible subscriber for quite a few years. I used the service actively (listen to Audible for 1-2 hours every day while working out/running). I got a retention offer automatically once I tried to cancel from the annual plan (just trying to switch to the monthly) but it was for 1 year at a time. That obviously doesn't work with the Platinum credit so I declined it. I then clicked on the option to talk to a chat rep who gave me a monthly retention offer but she only promised to lock me in for 3 months.
