I really think it's the latter. Around the same time as the app changed, I noticed that when I use Walmart.com on my desktop there was a design refresh. I guess they're updating the "experience" user-by-user.
I’ll note that I have iOS and p2 has android, neither have had any issues. Maybe it’s updating by location?
