Went to Munich in early July for a business trip. Overall it felt like business as usual in Germany, most things were open (except Airport concessions on both sides of the pond, maybe at 50% open) and most restaurants etc. were fine. Hotels were a but more disappointing. I stayed at the Hilton City on Rosenheimer Platz and the executive lounge was closed, the restaurant had reduced hours and the bar was closed every day except Friday and Saturday for a few hours. No one apart from the immigration officer at the airport asked to see my vaccination card. The real CF was in ORD. United were making everyone re-check at the gate, during boarding, to get a yellow sticker on their passport, to indicate they had verified my vaccination card. The line was long and the boarding was already in progress when I got diverted for this piece of theatre. Of course this was after I had already uploaded the vaccination certificate to UA's website - a pre-requisite for even getting a boarding pass. Talk about duplication of effort.... Of course you also have to get a negative CV-19 test within 72 hours of returning to the US.
