I know from personal experience that large packages of 20 wings, which cost 6 or 7 bucks a few years ago, are now 17 or 18 bucks.
I don't believe I'm paying that much here, but it may be closer to that than I remember, for whole wings. Sometimes I find the drumettes at a good price.

Makes sense, and I love drumsticks. But I'm not sure the meat-sauce-ratio would work for me. I've had the larger wings before and prefer the smaller ones.

Most places I know don't batter them. That's the Hooters-style wing, and there's a reason that Hooters has dropped significantly in popularity as wings have become more popular. I tried Hooters once maybe 20 years ago and refused to eat another wing there.

Yep - What I've mostly seen is the wing parts, skin and all dropped right into the fryer so they come out crispy. If anything, they may coat them in a very thin layer of flour for extra crunch. But if you see a buffalo wing with any kind of visible coating or breading on it after it's cooked, just offer to trade meals with your dining companion.
Fried chicken is great. "Hot" chicken, Nashville-style or otherwise, is great too. Buffalo wings are different and should not be prepared in the same manner.
