I think ftrichard was asking about non-UA benefits... which are essentially nothing. Star Silver does very little, just priority for standby/waitlisted flights. No benefits for baggage, priority lanes, seats, boarding, etc -- though individual airlines may offer some of those benefits despite not being required to.
