Shows you that opinions can differ as I too stayed in Oval and still had the comment I made above. I don't know what "6-star luxury" is but I wouldn't even give it 4 stars for physical plant.

Would you happen to have any thoughts on this? https://hikarinoyakata.com/eng/
I've done a day trip to the area where that place is located (Echigo-Tsumari art field) and was planning to book the Turrell house for a night, but then along came Covid, so I haven't been. You'll want to pick up a rental car at the nearest station if you try it. Note that the house has two rooms so unless you book the entire place you might be sharing it. Still, since I am an art fan, I'll likely give it a try once Japan re-opens without quarantine -- although there is no way to know when that will be; so far I have had to move my next planned trip three times and am currently holding April, 2022.
