CSR, got charged $450 renewal at the beginning of the month. 11K spend YTD, 9K last year.

I said I was looking for ways to offset the annual fee and wanted to check if I had any offers on my account. He stated there is no way to reduce the annual fee without canceling or changing cards. I explained I just wanted to check for offers and he repeated. Finally he did say there are nothing like "credits" available.

Do I actually have to say that I want to cancel the card? I tried that 6mo ago and the agent nearly completed cancelling the card before I stopped him clarifying I was looking for offers.
