In this thread from prior to the consolidation with US, I can call AA, link the PNRs and extend my baggage and seat assignment benefits to them.
Combine, or link, paid reservations so all get benefits?
Is that still the case?
Can I use my stickers and request upgrades to C for them as well?
Here is the much more recent relevant thread:
FAQ: TCP, "Linking" / link / merge itineraries / PNR (master thread)
There's really no such thing as "linking" PNRs, all they can do is add a note in that you're traveling with companions.
Getting them seated next to you in MCE is easy, just call AA. And for upgrades you can request an upgrade for yourself and one companion (but not both). Do that on the same phone call to AA.
But for baggage, your elite allowance will not carry over to companions on separate PNRs. However, if you all check in together, every now and then you'll get a friendly agent that might give them free bags as well, completely YMMV.
