I did sign the petition and last night I received an email from the Government. As expected it was full of what's the new expression? - oh yes - Corporate Rhubarb.
"Ministerial decisions on allocations to the red list are informed by the latest scientific data and public health advice, to protect public health and the vaccine rollout from variants of concern." and so on.
However, the email does end with this:
"The Petitions Committee will take a look at this petition and its response. They can press the government for action and gather evidence. If this petition reaches 100,000 signatures, the Committee will consider it for a debate.

Who knows what will happen, I am not expecting SA to turn green, I will be happy if SA (and Southern Africa in general) turns to Amber as we are fortunate to be able to work from home.
