I was going to post, I don't have any recommendation but it was something I was looking into as well but I won't be visiting until December - who knows what will be in place by then!

I saw in Pattaya some ASQ hotels with balcony's for less than 40k for the 15 nights, similar to what I paid for Bangkok in April for 10 nights. There is also a flight from U-Tapao to Udon Thani for getting up to the North East.
