I am a 100% purely recreational traveler; the Bonvoy Brilliant + Business combo means I only have to stay 20 nights a year to maintain platinum. In a non Covid year, 60 nights at a Hyatt, when much of my travel is to counties where Hyatt is pitiful is just unfeasible and I suspect unfeasible for most. Second tier Marriott brands (Marriott, Sheraton, Tribute Portfolio, Courtyard in Asia) are the “sweet spot” in my opinion where not quite aspirational pricing but elite recognition is still IMO excellent, especially abroad.

When I do want to stay at a nice Hyatt, I’ll utilize FHR or a preferred partner.
You really shouldn't be comparing MR Plat (the third published status from the top in the Bonvoy program) with WOH Glob (top published tier, excluding property owners, etc.). MR Titanium would be closer to Glob; I won't suggest AMB because it has a required spend in addition to nights, whereas Glob can be earned by nights or spend.
