Sometimes but I booked three nights at a hyatt where the third night is free plus I get $100 statement credit, free breakfast, room upgrade etc. Also worked it out where I'll earn hyatt and amex points. With third night free it dropped the nightly room rate below my booking direct. Also it triggers my $200 plat hotel credit. Gotta really crunch the numbers though to see which is better.
